Join us for a morning of yoga and cold-water swimming!
As this workshop is at the end of November it will involve our coldest collective swim so far - so you will really be able to experience the benefits of cold water swimming!
We will begin the morning together with an energising yoga practice led by Helen in Balnain Hall to warm our bodies, connect to our breath + calm the nervous system with a lovely relaxation at the end.
Then Kath Jones of Wild-Ness Spa & Retreat, who is an Open Water Swimming Coach + Lifestyle Medicine Physician, will lead a discussion exploring how cold water swimming can calm the nervous system, boost the immune system and improve well-being. Kath will also discuss the benefits of cold water swimming on metabolism and the digestive tract.
Then there will be the option to join us for a communal swim at Loch Meikle.
Afterwards, there will be hot drinks + a snack for everyone.
This will be a lovely morning of yoga, connection, nature, swimming, and community. It is especially a great opportunity to try open-water swimming in a supportive environment or if you are a regular swimmer with some new faces.
If you have any questions please let us know. The swim session is suitable for all except those with heart problems or uncontrolled blood pressure. Once your booking has been made we will send out a checklist of what to bring on the day + a health questionnaire.
